Indianhead Community Action Agency donates fishing poles to local chapter of Kids and Mentors Outdoors
Ladysmith, WI—Part of Indianhead Community Action Agency’s (ICAA) mission is to provide resources to develop healthy families in the communities we serve. That is why staff from ICAA’s Youth Development and Prevention program was excited to be able to donate twenty-four fishing poles and two tackle boxes to the Indianhead chapter of Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO). KAMO’s mission of matching mentors and youth to provide great outdoor education activities and hands on experiences such as fishing, kayaking, hunting, and environmental stewardship aligns well with the mission of ICAA. Jim Kurz, president of the Indianhead chapter of KAMO, said that with the donation of the poles, KAMO was already able to use them this summer for fishing outings with students from North Cedar Academy’s summer camps. Jennifer Shearer, ICAA’s CEO, said, “It’s a privilege to be able to help support the successes of organizations like KAMO. We appreciate the value they bring to our communities and the services they provide to the families who live there.”
