Indianhead Community Action Agency’s Taylor County Food Pantry receives Community Benefit Funding from Aspirus.
Medford, WI – Indianhead Community Action Agency, Inc. is honored and grateful to receive funding in the amount of $750 for the ICAA Taylor County Food Pantry. This Community Benefit Funding will assist the pantry in providing options for those who face food insecurity in Taylor County.
According to www.feedingamerica.org, in Wisconsin, one in nine people (one in six children) struggles with hunger. Food pantries like the one ICAA operates in Medford rely heavily on donations and local support. The impact of this funding is quite large! $750 dollars will help provide up to 3,000 meals in the community.
Community food pantries have a great impact by distributing help where it is needed the most. “Our food pantries help supplement the diets of low-income households, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost,” stated Jeff Stoneberg, Director of Community Services. “ICAA operates five food pantries, and in 2016, 996,060 pounds of food was distributed to 3,564 individuals. Funding from sources like Aspirus helps make a big impact in our rural communities.”
