October 4, 2013 – Milwaukee, WI – Mr. George P. Hinton, the former President and CEO of Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, is the new Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Social Development Commission (SDC). SDC is the WISCAP member agency serving all of Milwaukee County.
Mr. Hinton is the founder of the Hinton Group, a healthcare and business consulting firm that works with for-profit and non-profit organizations. He served as President of the Sinai Medical Center from 2008 to 2012. Mr. Hinton also has professional experience with INROADS, Inc. and Children’s Health System of Wisconsin. He serves on a wide variety of local Boards including the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board, the Medical Society of Milwaukee County, the MATC Foundation, the Institute for Leadership Diversity, and the American College of Health Care Executives. He also is an Adjunct Faculty member for Cardinal Stritch University.
In announcing Mr. Hinton’s appointment, Gerard Randall, SDC Board Chair, said, “We are pleased that George P. Hinton has started work as SDC’s Interim CEO. Mr. Hinton’s extensive experience in relationship and partnership development will benefit SDC as it seeks to provide high quality service and guidance to our clients.”
Mr. Hinton will serve at the helm of SDC while the search for a permanent CEO continues to be conducted. He replaces Acting CEO Jan Stenlund in leading the anti-poverty agency that serves Milwaukee County. Ms. Stenlund will resume her previous position as Director of Program Services for the agency.
