Food Security Program Specialist

Part-time, 15 to 20 hours per week
LTE: May 2019 to 12/31/19 (with possibility of extension)
Wage: $15- $20/hour

Position Purpose:

The Wisconsin Community Action Program Association, Inc. (WISCAP) is looking for a part-time program specialist to work with The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).  TEFAP is a federal nutrition assistance program that provides millions of pounds of USDA commodities to emergency food providers statewide at no cost for distribution to low-income food insecure households to supplement their diets. 

Primary responsibilities of this candidate are:

  • TEFAP Excel recordkeeping & data entry
  • Surveying statewide partner agencies & compiling results
  • Placing commodity orders & processing delivery receipts into USDA’s order management system
  • Supporting communications with partner agencies  
  • Providing back up to the Director of Policy & Programs
  • Providing additional services as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in human services or financial-related field OR minimum of 3 years commensurate work experience
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Conscientious, reliable, very detail-minded and a self-starter
