WISCAP’s OMB Uniform Guidance Training

Having strong internal controls and understanding the rules governing how you can and cannot spend federal dollars are keys to fiscal management and overall compliance in your organization. And the regulations have changed!   Review the regulations you need to know to stay in compliance through examples, stories and best practices facilitated from trainers with years of auditing and consulting experience. Day 1 – 12:30pm – 4:00pm

General Provisions and Administrative Requirements

Description: After an introduction and discussion of the laws and regulations, we’ll discuss the general provisions and administrative requirements of Uniform Guidance. Then, we’ll focus on standards for financial management systems and internal controls, property and equipment, and procurement.

Wednesday, September 10th

Day 2 – 12:30pm – 4:00pm

Monitoring and reporting, cost principles and cost allocation

Description: Day two will include discussions around the requirements for pass-through entities, reporting and record retention requirements, general provisions of the cost principles and cost allocation (including indirect cost rates).

Thursday, September 11th

Day 3 – 12:30pm – 4:00pm

Selected items of cost and audit requirements

Description: Day three will follow the cost principles discussion with a discussion of the costs that a grant- funded program can charge to federal grant awards, including allowable costs, unallowable costs and costs that require prior approval. We’ll conclude with a discussion of the audit requirements.
