Wisconsin Community Action Program Association’s (WISCAP) statement regarding Newcap, Inc.

On background: Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP) serves as a statewide network and supports Community Action Agencies, including Newcap. These agencies are independently incorporated and locally governed, with their own leadership and boards. WISCAP does not have authority over agency operations, financial management, or organizational decision-making. WISCAP does provide technical assistance, training, and advocacy on behalf of its members.

We are aware of the announced closure of Newcap, Inc. and the serious concerns raised regarding its financial condition and governance.

Our priority is—and will remain—the individuals and families who rely on these critical services. We are actively working with partners across Wisconsin to understand the scope of impact and to help ensure continuity of care wherever possible.

This is a difficult moment for the communities served, and we are committed to being part of a thoughtful, coordinated path forward.
